SEOOW portable cord, −58°F

Polar Wire Industrial Power Cord is a multi-conductor portable cord with an Arctic Ultraflex Blue TPE jacket. UL Listed SEOOW at 600 V for NEC Article 400, file E224869. CSA STOOW. It stays flexible at −58°F (−50°C), where a rubber cord stiffens. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, wet locations, and water submersion. Manufactured in the United States.

What gauge cord do I need for a 20 amp circuit?

The table on this page gives 12/3 an ampacity of 25 amps and 10/3 an ampacity of 30 amps, so 12 AWG is the smallest that covers a 20 amp circuit and 10 AWG is what gives you headroom on a long run or a hard-starting load. SEOOW is a UL portable cord type. S is hard service at 600 volts, E is thermoplastic elastomer, the two Os mean both the insulation and the jacket are oil resistant, and W means it is rated for outdoor and wet locations. Our cord is UL Listed SEOOW 600V for NEC Article 400 under file E224869 and CSA Certified STOOW from -50 degrees C to 105 degrees C. The 300 volt version of the same construction is the junior cord.

Can I get it in a set length?

Those will not fit a 5-15 wall outlet. 12 AWG, 15 amp, NEMA 5-15, single outlet: 10, 25, 50, and 100 ft. 12 AWG, 15 amp, NEMA 5-15, triple outlet: 3, 10, 25, 50, and 100 ft. Can this cord be used in water?

It is suitable for and approved for submersion in water, and it is rated for indoor and outdoor use and wet locations. The fillers are non-wicking polypropylene, which is what stops water traveling down the inside of a cable that has been nicked. It also carries MSHA approval P-241-3 for flame resistance and mining applications, and Federal and Military use under Federal Spec JC-580B.
