Frequently asked questions
What is DLO rated for on a locomotive?
2000 volts as UL RHH/RHW-2 and 1000 volts as CSA Type RW90, at -40°F to 194°F (-40°C to 90°C) wet or dry. It is UL Listed per UL 44 under file E18321 and CSA Certified per C22.2 No.38, meets the FT-4 and VW-1 flame tests, is MSHA Accepted under P-136-29, and is cable tray rated at 1/0 and larger.
Do you build locomotive jumper cables?
Booster cables and SAE J1283 jump start cables, both built from Arctic Superflex Blue. Booster cables run 8 AWG through 1/0 in clamp to clamp, clamp to harness and harness to harness configurations, with 1000 amp solid copper clamps. The J1283 sets use a keyed two-pin plug rated 500 amps continuous and 2000 amps intermittent for 30 seconds, and the plug shape eliminates the chance of a cross polarity connection.
Is DLO cable tray rated?
Sizes 1/0 and larger are CT rated. A second line is tray approved too and it is a different product with a different listing: Multi-Listed Flexible Wire is CT approved from 1/0 AWG through 750 MCM and is UL Listed as THHW and MTW under file E321440. Check which one your drawing calls for, because the two are not substitutes for each other.
