Frequently asked questions
What size jumper cables does an ATV need?
The 8 AWG set is the small one and it is sold: 8 feet clamp to clamp, or 6 feet in the build that uses a 1 foot harness. Bigger machines and bigger batteries move up the range, which runs 8 AWG through 1/0. The jumper cable guide works through engine size against gauge if you want to check before buying.
Will they work at forty below?
Arctic Superflex Blue has cold weather flexibility to -67°F, which is -55°C, and high temperature performance to 221°F (105°C). It is parallel bonded and tangle resistant.
Can I leave a harness fitted to the machine?
That is what the clamp to harness build is for. A short harness with plated copper lugs and a power connector bolts to the battery and stays there, so a jump becomes a connector rather than two clamps on a battery under a seat. Extra harnesses cover more than one machine, and connector cables extend the reach.
Where do I buy a set?
The Polar Wire store, in the ATV, UTV and snowmobile category, which carries the short sets with current pricing and stock. A non-standard length or a configuration the category does not list goes through the cable configurator or through sales, and assemblies for retail customers carry no minimum.
